Visitor Center Jostedalsbreen National Park is located in magnificent surroundings by Oppstrynsvatnet.

Surrounded by lush valleys and steep mountains on the north side of Europe's largest continental glacier, the Jostedalsbreen.

We convey natural values, cultural monuments and the history of the people in and around Jostedalsbreen National Park.

The center is located in Oppstryn in Stryn Municipality and was opened in 1993 by then Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland. The center was authorized as a national park center in 1997 by the Norwegian Environment Agency and reauthorized in 2019.

The National Park Center is owned and operated by Stiftinga Jostedalsbreen National Park Center with the County Governor of Sogn og Fjordane, Stryn Municipality, Høgskulen Vestlandet, Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, The Norwegian Tourist Association, Norwegian Botanical Association and Nordfjord Folkemuseum.
